What movies have you watched recently? I watched Wild Beasts (1984). It's an Italian movie about some PCP getting into the water supply, animals drinking the water and going nuts. Here's a trailer.

WILD BEASTS looks sick as hell. how well does it deliver on the promise of psycho animals tearing people apart? i feel like some of these movies are just a lot of talking and all the cool stuff is in the trailer. maybe that's just american movies of the time tho

LAst night me and my mom watched the cloverfield paradox and then in the end there’s this one scene I won’t spoil but it lead to us then watching the first cloverfield movie. Paradox was pretty (read: really) bad, cloverfield 1 was okay. Hadn’t seen it since it was in theaters.

I watched all seven episodes of the mini series Big Little Lies, and I thought it was really well-written and acted! (I pin mini series to my Pinterest movie board, so let's pretend that they are movies.)

oh whoopz i also saw a nutz-o bollywood movie called PADMAAVAT

which is based on a long-ass poem essentially about a hindu queen that (potentially) never existed, in 3-D/IMAX

Ah yes the film where some Conservative party in India put a bounty on that actress’s head.

also bounties for her nose and feet, respectively.

it's ok but, having actually come from a place like this, it definitely feels like a guy who has lived in LA or england his whole life wrote it, because a lot of it rings hollow

like, "this is what a racist person in a small town sounds like (according to some other movies i've watched that broach this subject)"

all of the leads are extremely good. i don't think it's a great movie though and, it this means anything, i haven't thought about it once since i saw it . . . so i guess it didn't stick with me

last week i saw

  • The Square (swedish!!)
  • Before We Vanish (japanese!!!)

i thought The Square was a lamentable pseudo-satirical piece of trash

Before We Vanish was way cool. a lot of it was dead air and ultimately wasn't cohesive though.
