@Hali i just told @soaplitz that more than anything, i believe you're fascinated with hot dogs not so much because of how they taste, but that they even exist at all

I am mostly put off by hot dogs for the same reason I'm put off by most fast food (i.e. knowing that it is made from junk and that it is hurting my body). But, like most fast food, I like the way it tastes. I like hot dogs a lot. I also like Big Macs and Whoppers. McNuggets are such a treat. I haven't had any of those things in, gosh, at least 18 months? I feel awful (physically and psychologically) after I eat those things. I don't even have to be drunk to think that they're a good idea. Perhaps that is the frightening thing -- I will be very sober when I decide that McNugs are a good idea.

Anyway, hot dogs. Yes! (but no. (but yes!))

i swear i mean this in a good way but i can't picture you eating hot dogs and mcnuggets

i often feel like i'm willing to eat the trashiest garbage out of anyone i know, but i have one trash food friend, the illustrious B. PORTER, with whom i can have enthusiastic discussions about new taco bell menu items or which fast food fried chicken is the best. he seems like a generally health-conscious dude and he runs every day, so sometimes i wonder if he eats that stuff because he lives in kansas and that's pretty much what's around

so uh

you might want to build up your mcnug resistance before you venture through kansas's border

I shared a box of 20 with Skip (10 each). This was Thanksgiving 2014.

And as it turns out, I lied when I said I hadn't had a Big Mac in 18 months. I had one this past July when I got my green card and figured it was the right way to celebrate. Oh man, I got McNugs with it, too! Dang, I had myself a party.

I love fries. My favorite kind are the big ones, which we in Australia call "hot chips." I believe y'all call 'em "steak fries."

for the uninitiated: 20 mcnugs is like a dollar more than 10 mcnugs, which is like two dollars more than 4 mcnugs. they basically force you to get 20 mcnugs. they FORCE you to.

speaking of forced, here’s the veggie burgre and sweep hotato fries y’all made me eat

while i sat there, another “guest”’s phone was receiving many messages. her text tone was the same tone i use for my almost-never-audible phone tone. it sounded like my phone was 15 feet away, receiving dozens of simultaneous calls.

the food was still delicious

Correct. It is $5 for 20 McNugs. It remains the best deal I think I have seen in America. I am trying to think of all the deals I have ever seen in this here country. I guess the Vietnamese banh mi deal in Chinatown where you can get three (or was it four?) banh mi for $10 is pretty good, but only if you are able to share those banh mi, because lord I sure cannot eat three or four banh mi in one go (or maybe even in one day? Maybe I could, but it wouldn't be enjoyable, so then what's the point? (Don't tell me the point I don't want to hear it)). Good deal, good nugs, love this country.
